World Animal Day get involved and show you care

World Animal Day, which is celebrated on October 4th, is dedicated to raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe. To achieve this, they encourage animal welfare organisations, community groups, youth and children’s clubs, businesses and individuals to organise events in celebration of World Animal Day to draw attention to animal issues and make them front page news – a vital catalyst for change.

Most people believe that animals should not be harmed unnecessarily, but the consumption of animal products forces animals into a life of misery and an untimely death. You can help mobilise people for action now for a better future for animals. By choosing a compassionate plant-based diet or buying Friend of the Earth certified products from sustainable farming wich ensures animal welfare, we can prevent thousands of animals from being harmed on our behalf. Each of us can make influencing decisions, that can literally save lives.

The World Animal Day is organized is celebrated in more than 20 different countries of the world.  Events include awareness and educational conferences and workshops; pet adoption events; animal blessing services; concerts, sponsored walks, and shelter open days; school events to educate the younger generation such as animal-related competitions, concerts and film shows; spay and neuter marathons and veterinary treatment camps.

World Animal Day has already brought about a significant and lasting contribution towards advancing animal welfare standards, and its influence will only continue to grow.
